Rapper JAY-Z has hit out at white people who exploit hip-hop culture in a bid to impress their peers. The GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS superstar dislikes folk who jump on the urban music bandwagon, but accepts some in white society are predisposed to the rap scene, like EMINEM. Jay-Z tells British magazine GQ, "They think they can say those words and take ownership of hip-hop. You can't. It's a lifestyle. It's a culture. It's not just music. "It's the way you present yourself, the way you talk, it's all that. You can't just say 'holler back' and you're in. It doesn't work like that. "Look at Eminem. He grew up around the culture his whole life. He's not capitalising off the culture, in my opinion. It's what he is."

You can't just say 'holler back' and you're in. It doesn't work like that. "Look at Eminem. He grew up around the culture his whole life. He's not capitalising off the culture, in my opinion. It's what he is." The holler back comment was pretty funny. And as far as Eminem is concerned, people can say whatever they want to say, but Eminem's official. I remember I saw Em in the "unsigned hype" section of the source way back in '94. People have to respect him whether they like him or not.
